This also omits the holographic pop up you get when you try to transfer some files to your table interface, only to discover you've ran out of license agreements.

I love it when marketing departments envision the future.

It’s just a shame that they don’t show someone throwing their fancy futurepaper across the room because they suddenly discover it won’t play Flash. This also omits the holographic pop up you get when you try to transfer some files to your table interface, only to discover you’ve ran out of license agreements.
Perhaps a better video would be a future inspired romp through interface standards protocol and 2035 IP litigation, but that doesn’t quite get the kids posting to Facebook status these days does it?

Regardless, enjoy the sequel to Minority Report.

Google is making could computing more and more mainstream today. People are computing the cloud and not even knowing what it is.

However as corporations try to trim budgets and cut corners they’re looking more and more to the cloud. Two major players today in the enterprise computing sector made announcements that they’d have more cloud offerings. HP announced a could based infrastructure service and Canon USA announced that they’d be offering printing and hardware management in the cloud.

This from HP:

As part of the HP Cloud Design Service, HP works with clients to understand their requirements and existing IT investments. HP then creates a customized cloud infrastructure design blueprint and an implementation plan. This plan includes cost estimates, guidelines for deployment, testing, operational management, service life cycle management, governance and support.

And this is what Canon had to say about the cost of the cloud:

Furthermore, by using a cloud-computing platform, which allows software and information services to be accessed via the Internet, technologies from both companies will be linked to create a platform for managed services that can continually evolve. In addition to increasing productivity, reducing costs, and streamlining operations, the services resulting from this technological collaboration will also deliver new added value by addressing needs in areas such as the environment and security.
