<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-335" href="http://www.interwebink.com/2010/03/bike-trails-now-available-on-google-maps/bike_gmap2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-335" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="bike_gmap2" src="http://www.interwebink.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bike_gmap2.bmp" alt="" width="484" height="376" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-333"></span><br />
Google has been sitting on this feature waiting for it to evolve. They&#8217;ve built the features with the support and cooperation of sites like <a href="http://googlemapsbikethere.org/">Googl Maps Bike There</a> and <a href="http://www.railstotrails.org/index.html">Rails to Trails</a> contributing to the information.</p>
<p>Here is some key information when you&#8217;re reading the maps:</p>
<ul>
<li>Routes avoid hills!</li>
<li>Dark green indicates a dedicated bike-only trail</li>
<li>Light green indicates a dedicated bike lane along a road</li>
<li>Dashed green indicates roads that are designated as preferred for bicycling, but without dedicated lanes</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-337" href="http://www.interwebink.com/2010/03/bike-trails-now-available-on-google-maps/bike_gmap1-2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-337" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="bike_gmap1" src="http://www.interwebink.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bike_gmap1.bmp" alt="" width="400" /></a></p>
<p>This is great news for the bicycling community and Google Map greenies! Head over to <a href="http://maps.google.com/biking">http://maps.google.com/biking</a> and check it out. Find your way to work today!</p>
